Hello, June

Last June, Ian & I got rid of both our cars, and bought our Jeep. Remember that? With the intention to ride our bikes as often as we could. Its a lot trickier to ride in the winter, but now that summer is upon us, we pumped up our bike tires, and are back to riding whenever its possible. With the thought that its better for the environment, its better for us, and it saves us cash.

I was packing up my back-pack yesterday, and thought the contents might give you a glimpse into my day. In my sweet biking backpack was:
* A pair of shorts
* A tank top
* Trail Mix
* Flip flops
*Rain jacket
*long sleeve shirt
*Jeans
*my swimming binder with attendance & workouts

One needs this random assortment of things on a June day in Central Oregon. Because its 80 degrees and Humid, and 60 degrees and pouring in the matter of minutes!

June is funny around here. Yesterday was our first practice that was canceled because of lightning. My 6 year olds were totally bummed to have to get out of the pool. The 16 year olds had been praying for a strike of lightning, and rejoiced as the sky lit up. Its blue Sky's and sunny right now, but they are predicting more thunder & possibly hail this afternoon. Ahhh....swimming outside is always an adventure around here!

We are really excited summer is here. We're looking forward to kayaking trips, camping trips & baseball nights. I have Iris blooming in my back yard, bleeding hearts in my front yard. We meet our neighbor across the street who has a doberman puppy, Hendrix. Hendrix & Taylor could romp around for hours.

It's swim meets, BBQ's, kayak's & camping from here on out. Life is good friends, life is gooood.
