So sorry about not getting here even once last month! But how about a quick recap on the good o'll month o' March?
The short course swim season came to an official end which meant two whole entire weeks off! No pool deck, and after being on the deck every single day since September, it was well needed!! Ian took the first 10 days off, and we had a fun little spring break. Went to a wedding, saw the family, put an offer on a house (more on that later!) hung out at the beach, and deep cleaned our house. Like moved furniture to vacuum, dusted (our wood stove creates so much dust!!) moved the microwave to clean, cleared out the garage, filled our entire trailer up with crap to haul to the dump... it took us a whole day, but was totally worth it!
A few of my favorite moments from the break:
* going for a run at my old middle school with Taylor
* Eating cream cheese tiger tails from Roths
* Playing cards with the Anderson's
* Walking on the beach late at night under the stars
* Wii at my parents house
* Ian & I sat at a sweet little coffee shop at the beach and enjoyed lattes, the morning paper, and good company one morning.
So about this house....well, we're going to buy a house! It's really exciting.
It's also really sad.
Because all these houses we're looking at are either short sales
Not to mention the President of the U S of A is also going to give us $8,000 just for being a first time home owner!
We're not itching to get out of Bend any time soon, the mortgage isn't going to be that much more than our rent, and its a great investment!
Looking at houses in our price range (& there are TONS of houses) we came pretty much came across two different scenarios; #1 we found beautiful, new
Until...after hours of walking through homes... we found this little beauty! It was built in '92 but has since been remolded. Its 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, bay windows in the living room, tile floor throughout the kitchen & hall, a beautiful kitchen that comes with an oven, fridge, & microwave (all matching!) and a really nice sized back yard and the best part about it?? Its in this sweet litlte neighborhood, in a cul-de-sac, with a elementray school & park just down the road. The house is awesome & the location is awesome!!
So we put an offer on it, its a short sale, which means it could take a while, and turns out the people that owned it took out two, TWO (2? yes 2!!!) mortages on the house.
Anyways, the seller, and one bank has accepted our offer, now we're just waiting on the other bank, we should hear next week. If this dosen't go through, we're back to square one. Which is fine with us, but its exciting to think we'll be in a new place (OUR OWN PLACE) this summer! wahoo!!!
Anyways, that was our month! Today is my last entire day off, and to be totally honest, i'm ready for pracitice to start! This week i found my self wondering, WHAT DO PEOPLE DO IN THE AFTERNOON / EVENING???? Becasue i'm usually at the pool from 3pm-6:30pm, but this week i just found myself being BORED in the afternoon, i was watching Oprah.....I told Ian i always want to be a swim coach and have my afternoons busy, 'cuz i was just bored this week! Plus i love what i do, so i'm looking forward to Monday! Plus its summer season! Which means the top comes off the pool soon......ahhh yess....i love my job!
We're going on a date tonight -- We're having dinner at Deschutes Brew Pub (our friends here in town, the husband is the GM so we babysit for them once an month, and we get dinner once a month at the pub -- its a sweet trade!) and its the first Friday of the Month which means its the Ark Walk! You just walk around DownTown Bend drink free wine, walk through these businesses and look at art, its really funky and fun! Just one more reason WE LOVE BEND.
Happy Friday blog-land!
