Its a sunny day with snow on the ground!

This past Saturday was a simple day. We woke up to a beautiful, cool, sunny fall morning. Ian and i shared a pot of coffee while doing a morning devotion. We're reading the book of John together, and trying to spend each morning together in the word, and praying for our friends, our families, our jobs. Some mornings we are rushed during this time, especially on mornings when one, or both of us work. Saturday was not one of those days, we were able to take as much time as we wanted discussing, reading, praying. A pot of coffee, a fire in the wood stove, these mornings i look forward to.

We knew we had to take advantage of the sunshine! So we thought we would put on our hiking boots, and go on a little adventure. We drove up towards Mt. bachelor, and stopped at Swampy Lakes Snow Park. There isn't a TON of snow up there, not enough to xc ski, or even snow shoe, so a hike was perfect.

We packed our lunch, and ended up hiking to this little cabin. Well its not a cabin, because there is no door, just this covered area with a wood stove, tons of wood, and benches. Its a place to stop for people who are snowmobiling, or xc skiing, or snowshoeing so they can get warm, enjoy a seat, drink some hot drinks, get out of the elements, they are pretty awesome!

So we tromped through the snow, following the trees....

Seriously. Well, okay - the trees with the blue triangle marker things, that led us to this sweet little cabin!

You can kinda see the blue triangle- marker -things on tress behind Ian.

Haha can you guess what Ian is doing?? :)

Winter is a craaaazy time for us! with Swim Meets most weekends, Holidays, there is a lot of transition going on at Ian's store...We're really thankful we live where we do. And we're really thankful for Saturdays like this past one filled with God's beauty, a winter-filled-fall, quality time, being out side with the one i love.
