We thought we would start keeping a blog for those of you we aren't in touch with tooo very often! This might be a fun way to let our family and friends know what we've been up to :)
So we are newlyweds! We got married July 28th, 2007 in Salem, and the wedding was absolutely fantastic! We had so much fun, laughed all day day, and really enjoyed seeing family and friends we haven't seen in so long. We just feel so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing people. Our friends and family worked so hard to make the day flawless - and it was a perfect day! The weather was beautiful, the ceremony was simple and elegant, and the reception was fun! we danced and ate some good Mexican food and feasted on some yummy cake. We had our honeymoon on a Cruise to Mexico and are now back in Bend!
After the wedding Ian started his new position at Starbucks as an assistant manager, and i got back to the swim team just in time for the Bend Open (which is the biggest meet we host all summer!) after the Bend Open the team took a three week break so i headed out to Maupin for some fun in-the sun-rafting! (and the extra cash wasn't a bad gig either!) Ian came out a few times with our new KAYAK (yes, we got a kayak for our wedding!) and we got to play play play! For my Birthday we went to the North Fork of the Santaiam with some friends, we swam, and hiked it was beautiful! We had a bbq in Salem with the fam and some good friends - it was nice to be in Salem not planning a wedding! we got back from camping and i left for SanDiego for a week for a swim coaching clinic. It was really awesome! i learned so much about the sport, and came home with so many new ideas for my group and lots of new ways to coach the kids. It was so encouraging and inspiring to be totally surrounded by people who do exactly what i do, with the same goals and mind set - it gave me a whole new passion for the sport.
Now life is getting a little more normal, the Bend Swim Club is back from the break so I'm coaching everyday which i fall in love more and more with. We are helping to start Young Life in the new-est high school here in Bend called Summit! Its a challenging and rewarding task - if you're the praying kind be praying we would be able to meet kids, and begin fruitful relationships with them! we're hoping to bring a handful of high school kids to fall camp at the end of October!! So far its looking very positive - we can't wait to get club started for the kids!
